Fall just feels good doesn’t it?
Sure, September is a crazy hectic month with all the changes (and additions) it brings to the schedule. But still. It might just be my favourite.
Life falls back into order for me around this time.
The kids are back at school, my long sleeved articles of clothing are poised and ready for it NOT to be 30 degrees and muggy AF outside, and we are PRIMED AND PUMPED for fall craft market season!
Our next market is at the front of our minds these days (join us THIS WEEKEND Sept 23 & 24 at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. For more info go here.) and during one of our meetings about how we might creatively promote it, Sarah and I realized something.
We BOTH think Fall Markets are the best!
And here’s why.
SWEATER WEATHER (aka Sweatah Weathah)
Oh my gawd the weathahhh! Leave your bulky coat at home, put some socks in your crocs and dress in cozy layers. It’s so much nicer to shop unencumbered and soooo much easier to try on clothing and accessories when you can just shrug off that sweater and try something on real quick.
EARLY INSPIRATION TO START DECORATING
Fall craft markets are always brimming with cozy items that are specifically tailored to the autumn season. From fall-themed home decor to cozy knitwear, you'll find a variety of crafts that capture the essence of the season and get you into the spirit for the good times to come.
PSL VIBES
Fall craft markets often feature delicious seasonal treats and beverages. From pumpkin spice candles to apple cider body scrubs, and many a sweet treat in between, you can indulge in the flavours of autumn while exploring the market.
NO PRESSURE
We’re still far enough away from the Christmas rush to actually ENJOY ourselves while shopping for others. Start your holiday shopping early to cut back on the December madness or #treatyoself without feeling like you “really should be buying for others”. You can feel great about supporting local artisans and avoiding the last-minute holiday rush.
HELPING SMALL BUSINESSES MAKE THE MOST OF HOLIDAY
Fall markets are a great opportunity for handmakers to get a head start on the holiday season. These events bring in a little extra revenue at a time when funds can start getting tight and allow makers to experiment with new product ideas so they are better equipped to make the most of Christmas sales! The items you gravitate towards during fall let the sellers know what they need to make more of to have a successful holiday season.
NEW TRADITIONS
One thing I've learned over the years is that I LOVE tradition. Having something to look forward to each season makes all the difference when it comes to my good mood survival. Fall craft markets provide an opportunity to start new traditions with friends and family. Whether it's an annual visit to a specific market (wink wink) or finding a special item that becomes part of your fall decor, these markets can help create lasting memories.
For a sneak peek at the makers we'll be hosting next weekend at the Bell Sensplex (MAP IT) take a dive into our lookbook below!
