Hello! I’m Tracy and I'm an illustrator/photographer/general creative person based in Northern Ontario. I work from my ‘studio’ in the fenced off half of my living room in Sudbury. I have a two year old son named Wolfe who keeps me company and is the reason for the fence.
In 2016, I co-founded Makers North with fellow northern creative Julieanne Steedman of Heirloom Island. MN is a northern Ontario based small business aimed at increasing the visibility of handmade creators in the north. Through markets, meet ups, workshops and juried exhibitions, Makers North strives to create an inclusive community of makers that supports and celebrates each other while contributing to creative culture in Northern Ontario.
I teach a variety of classes at Cambrian College in both the Graphic Design and Visual Arts programs. Classes range from history to studio based classes such as illustration and fundamentals courses.
I often collaborate with my musician/carpenter husband, Josh Turnbull, including our self published children’s book, The Awful Alphabet. It’s a hilariously silly way for children to not only learn the alphabet, but also learn not to get stuck on little mishaps…after all, it could be worse!
